Rock Springs, Wyoming
Location
Rock Springs is in southwestern Wyoming. It lies at the junction of I-80 and US191.
Description
Although the immediate area is far from scenic, being a mining and gas/oil production region, the town of Rock Springs is a very convenient place to stop for lunch or an overnight stay between (for example) Craig, Colorado or Montrose, Colorado and Jackson, Wyoming.
There are numerous restaurants, a good shopping mall (White Mountain Mall - external link verified Nov-02) and several motels at the Dewer Drive exit of I-80 (take Exit 102 and go north). This is probably the best area of the town for visitors making a lunchtime or overnight stop.
