Front Royal lies in western Virginia, at the northern end of Shenandoah National Park's Skyline Drive, just south of I-66.

US340, the scenic road through the Shenandoah Valley has its northern terminus at Front Royal.

Front Royal is a pleasant medium sized town with all the usual facilities.

If you have an early flight then Front Royal is a possible choice for a first night stay after landing at Washington Dulles Airport.
