Grand Staircase, Arizona and Utah

The name "Grand Staircase" refers to the series of mesas which rise up in steps from the Grand Canyon in Arizona to Bryce Canyon in Utah.

Each step in the Grand Staircase is composed of rock strata of a different colour.

Other steps in the Grand Staircase include Cedar Breaks and the Vermillion Cliffs to the west of Page, Arizona.
