The Desert Southwest - Introduction

The term "the Desert Southwest" refers to the desert areas of Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah.

The Desert Southwest includes:

Those parts of the Chihuahuan Desert which lie within the USA.
Those parts of the Colorado Desert which lie within the USA.
The southern part of the Great Basin Desert.
The whole of the Mojave Desert.
Those parts of the Sonoran Desert which lie within the USA.
