Panhandle
A "panhandle" is any part of a state which extends out from the main part, for example:
- Southeastern Alaska (extending down the coast, including Juneau and Ketchikan)
- Northwestern Florida (Tallahassee to Pensacola)
- Northern Idaho (north of Coeur d'Alene and I-90)
- Northwestern Nebraska (extending west to Scottsbluff)
- Western Oklahoma (between southwestern Kansas, southeastern Colorado and northern Texas, extending west to northeastern New Mexico)
- Northern Texas (Amarillo is very roughly at the centre of the panhandle)
- Eastern West Virginia (extending east to Martinsburg)
- Northern West Virginia (extending north to Wheeling and Weirton)
