Texas State Highway 54 Between US62 Near Guadalupe Mountains National Park And Van Horn

Description

From Carlsbad, New Mexico US62 South passes through Whites City, the junction for the spur road to Carlsbad Caverns National Park. It then continues south and crosses into Texas and very shortly passes through Guadalupe Mountains National Park.

US62 then continues west but Texas State Highway 54 branches off to run south to I-10 at Van Horn.

US62 from the New Mexico/Texas state line to the intersection with Texas State Highway 54 is highly scenic, with excellent views of the Guadalupe Mountains. I haven't explored US62 west of this intersection.

Texas State Highway 54 from the intersection to Van Horn is highly scenic. Northbound, there is an marvellous view for miles of the imposing Guadalupe Mountains ahead. In this part of Texas the scenery is on a grand scale.
