Susanville to Mount Shasta, California - California State Highways 44 and 89 - Lassen and Shasta National Forests

From Susanville take Ca 44 through the Lassen National Forest.

At Old Station there is a junction with Ca 44/Ca 89 which runs south to the northern entrance of Lassen Volcanic National Park.

Ca 89 North later enters the Shasta National Forest, which excellent views of the huge Mount Shasta volcano.

Ca 89 joins I-5 very near the town of Mount Shasta.

This route is a good fast road with varied and interesting scenery.
