Crowsnest Pass, Alberta and British Columbia

The Crowsnest Pass is the southernmost pass over the Rocky Mountains in Canada. The road is numbered as Highway 3 in both Alberta and British Columbia.

On the Alberta side, the westernmost prairies around Pincher Creek are scenic, as is the actual pass itself. In addition, the area west of the pass around Sparwood and Fernie is particularly attractive.

In my opinion this is an easy pass with no tight bends or severe slopes. On the other hand, I received this comment from Maurice Drew:

This is a winding road in places with steep inclines.
I also received an email from Thomas Majer of Vancouver, Canada who agreed with Maurice's viewpoint.
