USA and Canada Holiday Hints |
While the risk of encountering a dangerous wild animal is remote, it is possible. These are not pets or cuddly animals as portrayed in cartoons, but real animals which may react in an unpredictable manner.
Wild animals should never be fed. Feeding them encourages them to make more contact with humans and reduces their ability to obtain proper food for themselves. In many cases this eventually leads to the death of the animal.
Even minor bites from wild animals can lead to dangerous infections. If you are bitten, seek medical attention as soon as possible. If you suffer a snake bite, seek medical help immediately.
