Seaside, Oregon

Location

Seaside is on the northern part of the Oregon Coast, about sixteen miles south of Astoria and about eight miles north of Cannon Beach.

Description

Seaside lives up to its name, it is very much a seaside resort. However, it is a quiet, peaceful kind of town.

In order to see the beaches and the ocean it is necessary to divert off US101 into the town. There is a large free parking area adjacent to "the Turnaround", a roundabout at the western end of one road in the middle of the town, next to the beach.

Various types of holiday accommodation, mainly designed for visitors staying a week or more, is to be had throughout the town. There are also some motels, which are probably a better choice for those visitors only staying a night or two. The town also has a good variety of shops and restaurants.
