Location
Wiarton is located towards the southern end of the Bruce Peninsula.
Description
Wiarton is a small but pleasant town with a limited but adequate range of motels. It has a number of restaurants and a good range of shops. It has one or two fast food outlets.
Wiarton lies on an inlet of Georgian Bay, and so has a small harbour and marina.
Trivia
At least two of the motels in Wiarton have groundhogs (marmots) living in their grounds who are famous for their supposed ability to predict whether spring will be early or late each year on Groundhog Day. One of these animals goes by the glorious name of Wiarton Willie.
