South Baymouth lies on the southern coast of Manitoulin Island.

Description

South Baymouth is a tiny town. Its chief claim to fame is the Chi-Cheemaun Car Ferry which runs from South Baymouth to Tobermory on the tip of the Bruce Peninsula.

We had a good look round South Baymouth while waiting for the ferry and could find hardly any motels, restaurants or shops. Therefore for visiting Manitoulin Island we would suggest Espanola as a better place to stay.

However, Matt Richards of San Diego California sent me an EMail message saying that there are two motels, numerous B and B's and countless lodges, resorts and cabins in and around South Baymouth. If you prefer to stay on the island then I would strongly suggest doing some research beforehand because the locations of these establishments are not obvious.
