Parry Sound, Ontario

Location

Parry Sound is on the eastern shore of Georgian Bay, lying to the west of the Muskoka region. Parry Sound is on Highway 69, although you have to divert and take a business route off the main highway to go through the town.

Description

Parry Sound is a reasonable medium sized town with a reasonable range of facilities.

Boat trips of the Thirty Thousand Islands which lie on the eastern side of Georgian Bay are available from Parry Sound. A number of provincial parks are located nearby.

There is a good farmer's market in Parry Sound, in a marquee located on the road south from the town to the main highway. It seems to be open most days.

There is a combined Wendy's (hamburgers, etc) and Tim Horton's (cakes, donuts, etc) on the main highway a few miles north of Parry Sound. Because of its situation it is easily missed if heading south.
