John Cletheroe's
USA and Canada Holiday Hints

Muskoka Region, Ontario

Location

The Muskoka region is located between Georgian Bay and Algonquin Provincial Park.

What to See and Do

The Muskoka region features a number of scenic lakes surrounded by wooded low hills, and is highly recommended.

Highlights include a tour of the roads around the Lake of Bays, Highways 60, 35, 117 and 2. The tiny town of Dorset is well worth the very short diversion from the main road, and the nearby Dorset Fire Tower can be climbed if you have sufficient energy and courage (free of charge).

All the roads between Highway 11 and Highway 69 in the Muskoka area are highly scenic, namely Highways 518, 141, 3, 118 and 169.
