Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park, Ontario

Location

The impressive Kakabeka Falls are located very close to the extremely pleasant small town of the same name, on Highway 11/17 some fifteen miles west of Thunder Bay.

What To See And Do

There are a number of walkways from which the falls can be observed from various angles, all in a very nicely laid out park setting.

Entrance Free

In Oct-02, Lynda Horman, Park Superintendent, Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park kindly sent me this information:
The main parking lot, falls, and falls viewing area are all part of Kakabeka Falls Provincial Park. An admission fee applies to these areas. The day use vehicle fees this year are:
$2.00/one hour/vehicle
$4.00/two hours/vehicle
$9.00/day/vehicle

Some Ideas For Places To Stay

In our opinion the large town of Thunder Bay is a not very pleasant, rather featureless and depressing industrial town. Therefore the town of Kakabeka Falls makes an excellent alternative. Kakabeka Falls has small number of motels and a number of restaurants but you would need to run in to the outskirts of Thunder Bay if you prefer fast food.
