Chimney Rock Park in North Carolina should not be confused with Chimney Rock National Historic Site in Nebraska. This page is about Chimney Rock Park in North Carolina.
The park covers an area of nearly a thousand acres.
There is an excellent view to be had from Chimney Rock, which can be reached by means of an elevator ride of nearly 260 feet or alternatively via a trail and stairs. Many visitors take the elevator up and the trail and stairs down.
In addition, the park offers Hickory Nut Falls, a waterfall with a drop of over four hundred feet, making it one of the highest falls east of the Mississippi. There are also a number of hiking trails.
The park entrance fee is $9.95 per person (summer 1999).
