Badlands National Park, South Dakota

Location

To the south of I-90, east of Rapid City and the Black Hills, just east of the small town of Wall.

Size

379 square miles. For comparison, the size of the Isle of Man is 221 square miles.

What to See and Do

This park includes large areas of rocks with interesting horizontal strips coloured brown, orange and yellow.

The prairie dog colony is fascinating.
