Muir Woods National Monument is located near the southern tip of the Marin Peninsula, the northernmost of the two peninsulas which nearly enclose San Francisco Bay.

What to See and Do

Although only covering a small area, Muir Woods National Monument is an impressive grove of giant redwood trees, well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Muir Woods was named after John Muir, one of the founders of the United States National Park Service.
