Aztec Ruins National Monument, New Mexico

Location

Very near the small town of Aztec, in northwestern New Mexico.

What to See and Do

Despite the name, this is an Anasazi ruin and nothing whatsoever to do with the Aztecs. The name Aztec was established long ago and has persisted.

As well as the preserved ruins, there is also a most imposing recreated grand kiva to see.
