These changes are too numerous and too specific to be worth mentioning on this web site. The motel chain previously called Budgetel is now called Baymont Inns and Suites.

Red Lion Inns Acquired By DoubleTree

Doug Walton kindly sent me an email saying that Red Lion Inns have been taken over by DoubleTree and their properties have changed to that brand name.

Red Roof Inns Acquired By Accor

According to a news story in the 12-Jul-99 edition of the Daily Brief, Red Roof Inns are to be taken over by Accor, who also own Motel 6. I do not know if this development will result in any change of brand name, central reservation phone number or web site address.
