Munising, Michigan

Location

Munising is on the northern (Lake Superior) side of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. It lies just north of the junction where Michigan State Highways 28 and 94 join to form Highway 28/94.

Description

Munising is a very pleasant small-to-medium sized town, with a good range of accommodation and a reasonable range of eateries and other facilities.

Munising is a good base for the north shore of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, and also for Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.

Boat trips for viewing Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore can be had from Munising.

Just west of town on Michigan State Highway 28 there is a short spur road leading up to a parking area which has a first class view over the lake and Grand Isle.
