General
Includes links to Chambers of Commerce, state and regional tourist offices, etc. Verified Nov-98.
Includes a list of US state tourism offices with conventional addresses, telephone numbers and links to their web sites. Verified Oct-98.
This web site provides an excellent facility for requesting printed brochures promoting various regions of the USA to be sent to your conventional postal address. You can choose the brochures you wish to receive from a large list, with a maximum of twenty-five brochures per request. If you live outside the USA, be sure to enter a hyphen (-) in the state/province box, otherwise your request will be rejected and you will have to specify which brochures you want all over again. Also remember to specify your own country in your postal address. Verified Feb-02.
USA - State Tourism Offices
Many of these sites include a facility to request that they send you a printed vacation planning pack, which normally includes extremely useful items such as a guide to the state, an official state highway map, an accommodation guide, etc.
In some cases you may need to use each site's search engine, looking for phrases such as "travel guide", "travel kit", "vacation guide", "vacation planning kit", "visitors guide", etc.
In a few cases you may need to explore the site in order to discover a suitable email address to send your request to.
Visitors from outside the USA should be sure to include their country's name and when filling in request forms in most cases need to enter a hyphen (-) in the state/province box. You may also have the occasional problem with some poorly designed sites demanding a US or Canadian state/province code and/or ZIP code/postal code.
