Recommended First Night Accommodation for Miami, Florida

Introductory Comments

The motel listed on this page, which we have used ourselves, is located in a pleasant area and therefore recommended for a first night stop. There are of course numerous other possibilities and this is only one suggestion.

We usually like to head out of the airport city as rapidly as possible on the morning after the flight so this motel is on the outskirts of the city. It would not be a particularly convenient base for visiting the city itself.

Motel 6, Dania

North of Miami Beach, close to the coast.

Even if you are only staying at this motel overnight, be sure to run out the half a mile or so to the beach. The road crosses a small bridge over the Intracoastal Waterway. The road running south from Dania down Miami Beach is also interesting.

There are some shops and restaurants located on the main road to the west of this motel.

Rates excluding taxes One person Additional adult
23-May-97 to 17-Dec-97 $34.99 $4

Motel rates are provided for general guidance purposes only and have been taken from motel chain directories. Current rates may be higher. Rates at weekends and during holidays and special events may be higher. Rates are in US Dollars and exclude taxes.

The above is only one idea - there are of course a vast number of other possibilities.
