John Cletheroe's
USA and Canada Holiday Hints |
Those ferries we have used in both the USA and Canada have much lower fares than those involved in crossing the English channel. In the USA and Canada you can usually just turn up at a ferry within a few minutes of the departure time and get on the next sailing. Formalities are reduced to the absolute minimum.
There is usually little sense in taking a lengthy road diversion if a ferry provides a more convenient route in the USA and Canada.
A few ferries in the USA and Canada are free of charge.
