Driving In The USA And Canada - Some Other Sources Of Information
Printed Publications
- The AAA (American Automobile Association) publish a printed book entitled "Digest of Motor Laws". Public libraries in the USA usually carry copies, I am informed.
- Many American states (quite possibly all of them) publish an official printed book entitled "Driver's Manual" or "Driver's Handbook" or similar. I would imagine that the same may well be true for Canadian Provinces.
- Many American states and Canadian provinces have toll-free 800 numbers which give up-to-the-minute road condition reports. A list of these numbers appears in, for example, the Rand McNally Road Atlas.
Internet News Groups (Discussion Groups)
Specific questions on American and Canadian driving regulations can be posted on the rec.travel.usa-canada news group (discussion group) or perhaps more appropriately on the misc.transport.road news group. The misc.transport.road FAQ contains some interesting information about the US road network, including Interstates and US Highways. External link verified Apr-02.
