Columbia River Dams, Oregon and Washington State
There are a number of wide, low dams on the Columbia River, as follows:
In British Columbia
- Mica Dam (north of Revelstoke)
In Washington State
- Chief Joseph Dam (downstream of the Grand Coulee Dam)
- Dry Falls Dam (downstream of the Grand Coulee Dam)
- Grand Coulee Dam
- Priest Rapids Dam (east of Yakima, northwest of Kennewick/Pasco/Richland)
- Rock Island Dam
- Rocky Reach Dam
- Wanapum Dam (east of Ellensburg)
- Wells Dam
Except for Rocky Reach Dam, we haven't toured any of these dams.
Where The Columbia River Forms The Washington State/Oregon Border
- Bonneville Dam
- The Dalles Dam (construction completed around 1957)
- John Day Dam (east of where US97 crosses the Columbia)
- McNary Dam (where I-82 crosses the Columbia)
Except for Bonneville Dam, we haven't toured any of these dams.
