In other parts of the USA and in Canada the British meaning usually applies. |

To the best of my knowledge this road sign is not used in Britain. | In the USA an outline diamond symbol on the road surface or on a road sign indicates a restricted lane. I'm not sure if this road sign is also used in Canada. |
| DNR | Do Not Resuscitate. A note sometimes added by doctors to the medical notes of elderly patients, indicating that no attempt should be made to revive them should they suffer a heart attack during an operation. | Department of Natural Resources.
