USA and Canada Holiday Hints

Summary of Costs of a Fly/Drive Holiday From the UK to the USA and Canada in the Summer of 1995

In June 1995 we flew from Norwich to Amsterdam with Air UK (now called KLM UK) and from Amsterdam to Minneapolis with KLM, using a Northwest Fly/Drive (now Fly Drive USA) package.

We spent three weeks touring northern Minnesota (including the north shore of Lake Superior, the Gunflint Trail and Voyageurs National Park), southeastern Manitoba (including Hecla and Whiteshell Provincial Parks), Ontario (including Lake of The Woods, the north shore of Lake Superior, the north shore of Lake Huron, Manitoulin Island, the shore of Georgian Bay, the Muskoka region [east of Parry Sound], Algonquin Provincial Park and the Bruce Peninsula [north of Owen Sound]), the northern peninsula of Michigan (including Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore) and finally Wisconsin (including sections of the Great River Road alongside the Mississippi).

The following costs are for the three weeks, for three adults. Where relevant all the costs are for all three of us combined, NOT per person. Please bear in mind that your costs in the USA and Canada may vary considerably depending on your lifestyle.
