Car Rental in the USA and Canada - PAI (Personal Accident Insurance) and PEI (Personal Effects Insurance)
Visitors from Britain to the USA or Canada do not need to take out PAI (Personal Accident Insurance) or PEI (Personal Effects Insurance) with car rental companies, as these duplicate the cover provided by their normal holiday insurance.
As at Dec-98 a typical cost for PAI/PEI is around $8 per day.
PEI is also often used as an abbreviation for the Canadian province of Prince Edward Island.
