The Inside Passage is the name given to the 950 mile long shipping route which runs from Seattle in Washington State to Skagway in Alaska. The Inside Passage runs between the mainland and the various offshore islands, including Vancouver Island, the islands providing shelter from the Pacific Ocean.
Other major ports on the route of the Inside Passage include Vancouver (British Columbia), Prince Rupert (British Columbia), Ketchikan (Alaska) and Juneau (Alaska).
