John Cletheroe's
USA and Canada Holiday Hints

Anasazi Heritage Centre, Colorado

Location

Southwestern Colorado, three miles from the small town of Dolores; ten miles from Cortez and not too far from Durango.

What to See and Do

Visit the excellent museum of Anasazi (pre-Indian) relics.

When we last visited, a couple of years ago, there was no entrance charge. However, a posting on the rec.travel.usa-canada news group in early May-98 stated that there is now a $3 entrance fee although the writer couldn't say whether this was per car or per person as they were travelling alone.

This facility is administered by the Bureau of Land Management. Therefore any entrance fee should be covered by the National Park Service Golden Eagle pass, though probably not by the standard National Parks Pass.
