Strathcona Provincial Park, Vancouver Island, British Columbia

Location

Strathcona Provincial Park extends over a large area of the central part of Vancouver Island.

Size

I don't have an exact figure for the area of the park. The park is roughly the shape of a right-angled triangle with the right angle at bottom left. The park's greatest north-south dimension is approximately 35 miles and its greatest east-west dimension is approximately 30 miles. The park's area is therefore very approximately 500 square miles. For comparison the area of the English county of Berkshire is 485 square miles.

What to See and Do

The chief attractions of this park for most visitors are the scenic roads through it. One of these roads runs alongside a lake for a considerable distance. There are also various hiking trails of different lengths, some with waterfalls at their ends.

Entrance Fee

There is no entrance fee for this park.
