EPCOT (part of Walt Disney World, near Orlando, Florida)

EPCOT, the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, is a most excellent combination of entertainment and education and much more to our taste than the other mostly rather tacky non-Disney attractions in this area.

EPCOT consists of two halves: World Showcase has areas for various countries arranged around the edge of a circular lake and Future World has a number of pavilions each featuring several rides or exhibits explaining various aspects of science and technology. There is much more to EPCOT than just the geodesic dome for which it is best known.

Our personal favourite in EPCOT is the "Rio del Tiempo" (River of Time) boat ride in the Mexico section of World Showcase.

There are numerous motels near the main entrance to Walt Disney World along US192.
