Rocky Mountain House, Alberta
Location
The town of Rocky Mountain House is in western Alberta, on the David Thompson Highway (Highway 11) to the west of Red Deer.
From Saskatchewan River Crossing on the Icefields Parkway to Rocky Mountain House is about 110 miles but the journey is highly scenic on a good quality road.
Description
Rocky Mountain House is a pleasant small town. When I last visited some years ago, I felt it had an adequate range of facilities. Judging by the town's official web site (see below) it appears to have expanded somewhat, and now offers even more for visitors.
