This site provides photographs of London (England) streets. Though a promising idea, when I visited the site in September 2000 it was only possible to search by postcode and road name, not by district name. Also, there were no links from each street to adjacent streets. The same site also has similar pictures of streets in Chicago, Illinois and Brookline, Massachusetts (USA). Verified Sep-00.

Expedia UK (online travel agent)
Online travel agent for airline tickets, etc. This site will not reveal any prices until you have completed a complex, time consuming and intimidating registration process and supplied exact travel dates and times. There is a feeling that having supplied so much information the system will then go ahead and reserve seats in your name automatically even when you merely wish to discover prices. The site is very slow and buggy. A check of a few air fares suggests that prices are far from competitive. These problems are not unique to Expedia - they seem common to most similar sites. Verified Nov-99.

This extremely useful site may no longer exist. In November 1999 it had a full calendar of the major British and European sporting events for the whole of the year 2000. I found this information extremely difficult to obtain from any other web sites, making this site all the more valuable. Unfortunately when I checked it in December 2000 for 2001 information it hadn't been updated and when I checked again in December 2001 the domain name no longer existed. Verified Dec-00.
