Trainz Hintz - A Step-By-Step Guide To Making A Very Simple TRS2004 Scenario

TRS2004 Scenario Creation Tutorial - Part Six: Sources Of Documentation

Trainz Railroad Simulator 2004 User Activity Creation Guide

After installing TRS2004, the User Activity Creation Guide can be found on your computer here:
C:\Program Files\Auran\TRS2004\Scripts\docs\index.chm
This is a Microsoft compiled help file which can be opened by double-clicking it.

For scenario creation, by far the most useful part of the Guide is the "Class API Reference" section, which documents the numerous GameScript/TrainzScript functions that can be used in scenarios. While immensely useful, this section is very much a reference document, not a tutorial. The earlier sections of the Guide can be ignored as they concentrate on asset, Driver Command and Rule scripting, all of which are irrelevant to basic scenario creation.

The Class API Reference section of the Activity Creation Guide is exceedingly useful and by far the best source of reference information on this subject.

Content Creators Guide

The TRS2004 Content Creators Guide is primarily aimed at users who wish to create 3D models for Trainz (buildings, vegetation, rolling stock etc). However, it does contain some reference material relevant to scenario creation. This link is to V1.03 as I cannot find a link to the significantly larger V1.04.
